Mental Health Awareness Month: Resources from the HR Happy Hour Podcast Network

May 26, 2022

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness of those living with mental or behavioral health issues and to help reduce the stigma so many experience. With Mental Health such an important issue for all of us, it has also emerged as one of the most critical challenges for HR and business leaders to address. According to The 2022 State of Workforce Mental Health Report from our friends ay Lyra Health, 84 percent of workers surveyed experienced at least one mental health challenge in the past year, from issues such as stress and burnout to diagnosable conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.

With employee mental health such a challenge, we have devoted a number of podcasts featuring several workplace mental health experts over the last year or so, and I thought it would be a good idea to bring these altogether in one place, to make it easier for anyone interested in listening to some of the best information, insight, and recommendations on ways to support employee’s mental health and wellbeing.

Here are details from five of our more recent HR Happy Hour Network podcasts on employee and workplace mental health:

How Scheduling Impacts Employee Mental Health and Work/Life Balance – With guests Alison Stevens, Director of HR Services, Paychex; Jeanne Meister, Executive Vice President, Executive Networks

Supporting Mental Health – How One Person Can Make a Difference – With guest Maya Wilson, Executive Director, Born This Way Foundation

Meeting the Wellbeing Needs of Your Employees – With guest Polly Nicholas, Senior Vice President, Unum Solutions

Mental Health in the “Next Normal” of Work: 2022 Trends Forecast – With guest Lara Gossman, Director, Enterprise Customer Success, Lyra Health

Addressing Mental Health in the Workplace – With guest Lindsay Mastrogiovanni, HR Coach, Paychex

As employee mental health is sure to remain an important issue for the remainder of 2022 and beyond, we will continue to bring you the best conversations and idea on ways HR and organizations can make positive progress, and help support the overall wellbeing of their people.
