Celebrating International Women’s Day 2017

March 8, 2017

For International Women’s Day, which is today, Wednesday March 8th 2017, we thought that we would look back to some of our favorite, recent HR Happy Hour Shows that featured amazing women doing fantastic work.

The topics and the conversations are not necessarily ‘women’s’ topics, which is why they perhaps matter even more. These shows and these guests simply represent just a few of the incredible and successful women in HR, HR Tech, and in business more widely, and we are lucky to have had the chance to spend some time talking with them.

For each show there will be a link to the show home page, as well as an embedded widget player for that episode, (email and RSS subscribers will need to click through).

Presented in reverse chronological order…

From February 13, 2017 – HR Happy Hour 275 – Employer Branding on a Global Scale at GE – featuring Shaunda Zilich from GE

Shaunda shared some key insights about GE’s approach to employer branding, how to engage employees, hiring managers, and business leaders to help spread important employer brand messages, and to best position GE as well as communicate, support and align with business strategy. She also shares some ideas about how to get employer branding and recruitment marketing programs off and running, even with limited, (or maybe even no) budget, staff, or resources

From November 2, 2016 – HR Happy Hour 265 – Women in HR Technology featuring Bianca McCann of SAP

Bianca shared her insights on the Women in HR Tech Summit, the importance of framing these issues in the organization as business challenges and business opportunities, and not just HR programs or ‘we should do this because it feels right’ activities. Diversity should be looked at as a business imperative and the way to actually move the needle in the organization is to look for root causes, and set about addressing these causes. The key is to bring facts and data to the table, and think through the problems in a manner that is similar to taking on all kinds of business challenges.
