As an HCM analyst, one of the questions I get the most is what my prediction is for the direction of human capital management in the next 3- 5 years. I’m lucky in that I am able to attend many events and “Analyst Days” so that I can hear how HR technology providers are focused on driving that direction.
I recently attended Oracle HCM World in Chicago, IL. If you have not attended before, it’s a wonderful way to not only learn more about Oracle and all their HCM offerings, it is a way to learn from some of the top industry leaders and walk away with a new perspective on the future of Human Resources.
The latest information, provided by Chris Leone (SVP & GM Oracle HCM Cloud), shows that Oracle has:
- 6K+ HCM Cloud customers
- 1K+ Core HR customers
- 275+ Fortune 500 companies
- 2K+ ERP customers
- 600 Live Core HR Customers (70- 100 “go live” each quarter)
This impressive growth shows that the momentum Oracle has enjoyed in recent years appears to be continuing. With more and more businesses moving to the Cloud for their organizational systems, there appears to be no end in sight for the ways that HCM providers can grow their technology offerings.
Oracle is focused on a few areas that seem to be getting a lot of play, but that may or may not resonate with HR professionals just yet. The next few years will tell if companies are ready for:
- Investment in Talent solutions over other areas such as Payroll or core HR
- Collaboration analytics to determine how well people are working together
- Wellness and reputation management solutions
- Consumerized HR solutions that will bring the same personalized experience to employees that we all have when we shop online
- A fully integrated learning module
The learning module is one that caught my eye as an opportunity for immediate interest to customers and prospects. Oracle has been working on the learning module for over 2 years. There is complete integration to the existing employee profiles. They also created Communities, which brings a YouTube channel approach to the clients. Clients can have public or private communities where content is pushed to employees, as they need it. Learning is no longer a stand-alone, it can be part of any one of the Oracle applications.
As you can see, Oracle remains a provider to watch. They continue to examine how work is changing and then come up with solutions to meet those new organizational needs.
