HRevolution Sponsor Spotlight- Monster.com

Originally posted: October 28, 2009 on TrishMcFarlane.com

By now, you’ve probably heard about HRevolution, the un-conference for HR bloggers, HR practitioners, and recruiters. HRevolution will be held November 7th in Louisville, KY at the Seelbach Hilton. I am still quite amazed that a small idea between a few people four months ago has grown into a grassroots movement. Even more amazing are the companies that are sponsoring this no-profit event. I’d like to share a special sponsor with you.

I was contacted by Eric Winegardner of Monster.com. He asked what he could do to best support HRevolution. After several conversations, I was thrilled to learn that he will be a participant as well as having Monster.com sign on as a sponsor. Their generosity will cover the cost for breakfast and lunch for our participants as well as help defer costs of the conference space and equipment.

So, what do you know about Monster.com? I  know I’d be hard pressed to find a person who has not heard of Monster.com. According to Wikipedia, Monster.com is “an employment website owned by Monster Worldwide. Monster is one of the 20 most visited websites out of 100 million worldwide, according to comScore Media Metrics (November 2006). It was created in 1999 by the merger of The Monster Board (TMB) and Online Career Center (OCC), which were two of the first and most popular career web sites on the Internet. Monster is primarily used to help those seeking work to find job openings that match their skills and location.”

While that may be true, I want to share some little nuggets about Monster.com that you may not be aware of. Did you know that they have a Talent Management Suite which is a full employee lifecycle application? They currently have over 300 customers in 10 countries.

Monster.com also has an exciting addition that will be launching in the next 2 weeks. It’s Monster Communities. It’s actually live on their site right now, so be sure to check out their 17 communities.

Have you heard about Monster for Publishers? It is an extremely strong product which allows content producers (bloggers!) to put a wiki on their site which drives revenue by driving relevant traffic to Monster job search.

So, now that you know about some of the exciting offerings Monster.com provides, join us for HRevolution where you can meet Eric Winegardner in person. He’ll be happy to tell you more about any of the offerings above. Thank you to Monster.com and Eric for supporting HRevolution. Their generosity is critical in making our dream come true.
