Who's that Girl?
A Non-HR Post for Fun- Remember New Kids On The Block?

Since this is a holiday weekend and I am off work on Friday, today is feeling like a Friday. I thought I’d write something more personal since everyone in “HR-land” is on information overload following this week’s SHRM conference.
One quick word about that. HUGE kudos to SHRM, China Gorman and the outstanding panel of HR bloggers (Laurie Ruettiman of Punk Rock HR, Kris Dunn of The HR Capitalist and Fistfull of Talent, Jessica Lee also of Fistfull of Talent, and Lance Haun of Your HR Guy). I was not able to attend this year’s conference, however, the fact that SHRM live-streamed the HR blogger session was very generous. The session was interesting to me not only due to the great information they discussed but because it was a more casual knowledge-sharing experience. Great job!
So, back to me and my Thursday-that-is-really-like-a Friday. I am very tired today and my voice is quite hoarse. Back muscles ache that I don’t remember having. Why, you ask??? Because I went to the New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) concert last night. I know…..are you groaning? I went with a fun bunch of girls from my subdivision and we had the best time ever. I was not a huge NKOTB fan back in the day (which was a Wednesday according to Dane Cook. All the Dane Cook fans will understand that remark) but I digress.
The concert was actually really great. I was amazed that almost 40-something men can still dance in synchronicity. I guarantee that I could not do that and I’m almost their age. Which brings me to my back ache today. I danced the night away to some great new songs and some old NKOTB standout songs. Join me in a little Thursday/Friday reminiscing of “The Right Stuff”…..oh oh OOHHHHHooo.
