Who's that Girl?
I’m Engaged at Work, Are You?

It’s 8:31 pm on a Monday night and I’m writing a post. For anyone that knows me, this is highly unusual for me to be writing now. First, because my kids are still up and I always write when they are in bed and second, because I typically write very early in the morning (try 4:30 or 5:00 am). So, why am I writing now? Because I am really engaged at work.
Our employee engagement survey launched today and it’s been months of planning this two week event. One thing I volunteered to do was to take a couple night shifts so that we can spread the word about the survey and offer to help anyone who may need assistance on the computer. So, I’ll be heading off to dream land in a minute and getting up in a few hours to head to work. I’m actually excited because I don’t get to see our night shift employees often and this will be a great opportunity to talk with them. Since I won’t be writing in the morning, I thought I’d at least share links to three great posts I’ve read recently.
The first is by Matt Stollack at True Faith HR. His father, Dr. Gary Stollack, shares a guest post about adult-adult relationships and parenting skills that will make you want to comment. The second is a great piece about the scam that is known as conference economics. Mark Stelzner of Inflexion Advisors really nails this one. It’s a great post. The third “must read” post is by Kris Dunn over at the HR Capitalist. Kris writes ‘I don’t know how this is going to end, I know how it’s going to begin…’ and it’s definitely worth reading.
So, that’s it for me. It’s 8:47 pm and about to be lights out. After all, I’m thoroughly engaged in my work and want to make sure I do a great job on night shift. Wish me luck!
